Recovery Centers of America Advocates for More Positive Language Usage for Substance Use Disorder Patients in National Blog Magazine “The Medium.” Dr. Deni Carise, Chief Scientific Officer at Recovery Centers of America and an international addiction treatment expert, discusses an important issue in the article entitled ”Its Time to Quit Using… Stigmatized Words Like “Relapse.”

RCA’s Dr. Carise suggests we begin to change our language surrounding addiction recovery by using the word “recurrence” of symptoms similar to other diseases rather than “relapse.”
